Pillars of Justice

Lisa Poch is running on a platform of public safety, experience and efficiency.

Lisa has been practicing law for 16 years.  She has spent her entire career working in Hamburg.   Lisa worked her way through college and law school and no one in her family has served as a Judge or in Town government.  Neither of Lisa's parents are lawyers. Her mom was a schoolteacher.  Her dad worked at a local college in maintenance. Both were proud union members.  Hard work, perseverance and commitment is what got Lisa to where she is today. A typical day in college started with with Lisa walking to campus at 4:30 in the morning to work a lifeguard shift at the school’s pool before a day full of classes and studying, and often finishing with another shift at the pool before she wrapped up for the day.  Ms. Poch had a second job at the alumni office.  In spite of these extra obligations, Lisa still graduated college, with honors, a year early while balancing a busy workload and full course schedule. She also worked all through law school at various jobs, both in the legal field and elsewhere. She competed around the country on various trial teams with the University at Buffalo Law School That is the sort of work ethic and commitment you need to be an effective lawyer, and it is the work ethic Hamburg deserves and can expect from Lisa Poch as Town Judge.  It also gives Lisa a good understanding of the stressors and struggles of everyday life that the people who will come before her in Court often face.  Lisa has a practical and commonsense approach to the practice of law because of the road she took to get to this point. There’s no silver spoon here. Lisa Poch will bring unmatched work ethic, integrity, professionalism and practicality to the bench.

Lisa's experience speaks for itself.  Nearly two decades in private practice at an established and accomplished Hamburg law firm, Dan Chiacchia Attorneys. Multiple successful trial verdicts. Countless hours of practical courtroom experience. Serving the Town of Hamburg as both its Prosecutor and Attorney.  In these roles, she interacted regularly with various Town Departments and developed a great working relationship with the court staff, police department, dispatch office, code enforcement and others who interface with the Court, always displaying preparedness, professionalism, integrity, and respectfulness.  Lisa is at home in the courtroom.

Lisa has presented at various Continuing Legal Education events training other lawyers.  She proudly serves as a Local Director of the Western New York Chapter of the Women’s Bar Association.  She has taught at a local community college to train paralegals.  Lisa has assisted UB Law School in its trial team program, giving back to a program that helped her become the lawyer she is today. Lisa has been a cub scout leader. She served as an attorney advisor to the Frontier High School Mock Trial team for many years.  Lisa Poch is ready to serve as Hamburg Town Judge.

Ms. Poch is actively involved in the Hamburg community, where she lives with her husband, Jason, and their three kids, all of whom attend public school just like Lisa and her husband did (and their parents, too).  Lisa is an active volunteer with the Union Pleasant PTSA.  She supports the Hamburg Music Boosters and Village Engaged.  Lisa volunteers at various community events with local groups and coordinates Dan Chiacchia Attorneys’ participation in the Village of Hamburg’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service Food Drive each year.  When Lisa is not practicing law or enjoying time with her family and friends, you can find her driving her kids to various sports and activities, walking the family lab to Main Street Ice Cream for a pup cup, riding on a spinning bike before work, traveling, cooking and cheering on the Buffalo Bills.

Lisa looks forward to showing the voters in Hamburg why she is the clear choice for Town Judge in 2025.
